RVAsec 2013 is over and we are very pleased with how everything turned out! It was an aggressive move to grow the way we did this year, but we heard your feedback loud and clear, and you demanded more!
The first year RVAsec was a 1 day single track conference that attracted approximately 170 attendees. This year, we grew to 2 days, 2 tracks and had over 265 attendees!
Some thanks are in order for:

We’re sorry if you missed out on a ticket, however, we are recording the speakers and will have talks posted after the conference. Please follow @rvasec on Twitter (or the good ol’ RSS feed) for video announcements and registration dates for next year!
Just a reminder that Rapid7 is hosting the RVAsec after party on Friday, May 31 at the Tobacco Company! The event takes place right after the conference–so head from VCU down to Shockoe Slip for some cocktails and appetizers!

This year’s conference marks several firsts:
For more details about the CTF, please check out http://rvasec.com/ctf/
We’ve had a number of people pre-register (http://securabit.com/ctf/), which is fantastic, and you can pre-register all the way up to the day before CTF. The only requirements are that you are an RVAsec attendee and you bring your own laptop. You can even show up to the CTF and participate without pre-registration, space permitting.
And, of course, there are prizes!
1st Place – Nexus 7 PwnPad
2nd Place – Raspberry Pi
3rd Place – 1 BSides Las Vegas ticket
4th Place – 1 BSides Las Vegas ticket
5th Place – The highest of fives

The reserved RVAsec block of rooms at the Crowne Plaza is almost full! If you need a room for the conference please book as soon as possible.
The rate is $112/night (which includes parking)– when you call ask to speak with “in-house reservations” and mention the block “RVAsec” to get the special rate. Unfortunately, you will need to call the hotel to get the rate and cannot get the rate online.

The hotel has a shuttle that runs back and forth from the conference location at VCU for both days.
When the RVAsec block is full or is expired we cannot extend it. If for some reason you need another hotel here is a link to some near the conference location.
We are pleased to announce that RVAsec 2013 is now sold out and we look forward to a great event! In the coming days we will provide some additional information about the conference to all that have registered.
There are a few spots remaining for training classes and registration will remain open until Midnight Eastern Timezone.
See you soon!
